Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) is a rare but serious condition that can affect youth without warning, underscoring the importance of preparedness, awareness, and prevention. In July 2025, Governor Kathy Hochul signed Desha’s Law (S.5539A/A.785A), which requires every public school in NY to have a cardiac emergency response plan in place.
