School Kids

Conducting Trauma-Informed Drills

This two-hour session addresses NYS drill requirements, including recent amendments to Commissioner’s Regulation §155.17 that require all drills be trauma-informed; actions that can be taken before, during, and after evacuation and lockdown drills; best practices for conducting drills in a trauma-informed manner; and resources available to support safety teams.

 

Time will be provided for questions.

Laws and regulations

Review of Recent Changes to Commissioner's Regulations §155.17

The two-hour session will begin with a brief overview of the changes that took effect on July 31, 2024, followed by a more in-depth review of the changes that become effective July 1, 2025.

The content of this session is similar to last summer’s sessions, but with a greater focus on the changes that are required for the upcoming school year, including new and recently updated resources.

 

Time will be provided for questions.​
